One secret to keeping kids happy and engaged in their family session, is to ask lots of questions and be as goofy as you can.  I always ask who their girlfriend or boyfriend is....never fails....I get the best reactions.  I also (with parents permission) ask who the best "Farter" in their family is?  Guaranteed laugh!!!
